Maia loves to watch the birds through the back window as they feast at our patio feeder. Male Cardinals are "daddies" and female cardinals "mommies". However, she has had some trouble naming the materials involved in feeding these little birdies. Birdseed = "seedbird" and the bird feeder itself? Her latest name for that is: "bead-fird".
Our favorite is when she takes it upon herself to rid the feeder of the pesky squirrels that sneak on it. Whenever she catches one perched on the roof of the bird-feeder, she'll run to the sliding glass door, and--while flinging her hand out in strict discipline-- will shout, "Shoo-off!!"

something you said in your comment really hit home for me... "remember that it is through suffering that God often draws his children closer to himself."... i remember feeling that way after my car accident. there is so much truth in it...
the whole healing discussion has been incredibly prevelent in our ministry right now because one of our guys just found out he has cancer, and he is only 27 w/ an 8 year old daughter... a lot of my thoughts & questions stem from the many conversations we have had, as people mull over what they have always "thought" to be true. i really appreciated what you had to say, it was good insight to the Scripture.
